I chose weaving for my final project. When I was young, I really wanted to know how things were weaved. I also wanted to try something new for a change and explore different types of mediums. I found out that weaving takes a lot of time and patience to do. It is good for people who are very detail oriented.
To make this piece, first I had to choose what color yarn I wanted to use. Then I took some green thread and threaded it through the loom. Then I took these ruler like spacers and weaved one through the top and one through the bottom. Then I cut a piece of yarn that was arms length and weaved it through the thread. I then used the spacer to make the yarn close to the bottom. After that I weaved more arms length pieces on the loom until i was satisfied with the length of my piece. I think that overall my piece was successful. I was satisfied with the shape of the piece. The piece was about the same width from the start to the finish. I liked the color combination of the yarn and how it transitioned from a turquoise to white to a magenta. I am also satisfied with how none of the green thread can be seen in the piece. If I were to start this piece all over again I would use a yarn that is one color so it is easier to coordinate the endings of the colors. I might of also made the width of the piece smaller so I could make it into a very tiny scarf. I also could have redid the thread up top so that the spacer/ruler thing could properly fit on top of the loom.
