Amber Cowan is an artist that works with glass to build amazing sculptures. She has received her MFA in Glass/Ceramics from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia in which she is part of the staff. From Salisbury University she earned her BFA in 3-Dimensional Design with a concentration in Glass. At Heller Gallery she has had solo exhibitions. She has also taught at multiple schools including The Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Crafts and the Studio of Corning Museum of Glass. Her site is ambercowan.com/home.html Rouge Flambe The Revelation of a Serqet Sky Blue, Cobalt and Slag Amber Cowan inspires me by her intricate and astonishingly beautiful sculptures. She makes me want to learn how to use different mediums such as glass or recycled materials. I am awed by how creative and original her artworks are. She makes me want to step outside my boundaries when making art. I am amazed about how much time she has put in all her pieces of art. It looked like it wasn't easy and it wouldn't take a small amount of time making all of these things. I am also stunned at all the beautiful colors she uses to make her pieces pop out to people looking at them. On the other hand, I usually draw with pencil and don't add to much color to my art, her art makes me rethink that decision.
